In Texas I have 3 acres of land with a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom single wide trailer. I have a well and septic tank, so I don't have to pay for water or sewage. My job pays me the same and life is great. The average price of a old used house in Southern California is 450,000$ dollars on a 30 year mortgage. Theses prices were back in 2013 so maybe it's more expensive now. The city's inhabitants are referred to as "Angelenos". Los Angeles was founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican--American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. Nicknamed the City of Angels, Los Angeles is a world center of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, and education. It is home to renowned institutions covering a broad range of professional and cultural fields and is one of the most substantial economic engines within the United States. Los Angeles has been ranked the third richest city and fifth most powerful and influential city in the world. The Los Angeles combined statistical area (CSA) has a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of $831 billion (as of 2008), making it the third largest economic center in the world, after the Greater Tokyo and New York metropolitan areas.[17] As the home base of Hollywood, it is also known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World," leading the world in the creation of television and stage production, motion pictures, video games, and recorded music. The importance of the entertainment business to the city has led many celebrities to call Los Angeles and its surrounding suburbs home. Additionally, Los Angeles hosted the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics. ( Wikipedia )

The State California has a proposal on the table, yet to be signed by Governor Jerry Brown, to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by the year 2020. They will start with a .50 cent increase to raise the current $10 per hour minimum wage to $10.50, then they will raise it to $11, then one dollar per year until it reaches $20 per hour. Businesses with less than 25 employees will be given an extra year to comply with the new wage hike. The incremental changes and concessions made for very small businesses seem to point to the fact that the powers that be know a raise in minimum wage has negative financial effects. Over the past two to three years, there has been a movement that has gained a lot of steam... the "Fight for $15" movement. Many people have been outside of the establishments where they are employed (and other people's establishments) en masse, with protest and picket signs. Some employees have even walked off the clock in protest. There doesn't seem to be much respect for geographic location, the local area's economic strengths or weaknesses, or the nature of the business in which they are protesting should increase minimum wage to $15 an hour. There also doesn't seem to be much respect for the fact that many of the minimum wage jobs in question may simply be replaced with a robot. Or the simple logic of economics .... or supply and demand. The higher the wage of a job is, the more in demand that actual job becomes to potential employees. Therefore, the more stringent the hiring process will be. People that have low skills and low education, the chief people being "protested" in favor of... will be left out in the cold. Also, the demand for low skill, low wage jobs will shrink on the employer side of things if the law makes it to where a machine will cost less over a period of time than a human employee. Which is a job destroyer. Those who are fighting for $15 in California and in other states, such as Washington State, must ask themselves a simple question. Is it more worthwhile to have a job that pays less than desired, or to have no job at the pay that is desired? –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– If you want to support me to continue to crank out these videos, please visit my website http://www.anthonyblogan.com/contact/ and click on that donate button for me! –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– You can catch me micro-blogging on a near 24/7basis on my social media platforms: http://www.twitter.com/anthonyblogan http://www.facebook.com/lcs.flyers Please take a moment and subscribe to my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/aloge?sub_confirmation=1 Stay tuned to my website http://www.anthonyblogan.com for more updates as they come in! –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Deal reached to increase California minimum wage to $15 http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/03/27/deal-reached-to-increase-california-minimum-wage-to-15.html?intcmp=hplnws WaPo Buries: Minimum Wage Increase Cost Inner-City DC Two Walmart Stores http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2016/01/18/wapo-buries-minimum-wage-increase-cost-inner-city-dc-two-walmart-stores/ Checking Seattle's $15 Minimum Wage: Look, There Are The Job Losses http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2015/10/23/checking-seattles-15-minimum-wage-look-theres-the-job-losses/#57224a6f5da4 Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) Key Statistics https://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=COST

(1 Apr 2016) California lawmakers on Thursday approved the nation's highest statewide minimum wage of $15 an hour to take effect by 2022 after it was hailed by Democrats as an example to the nation as it struggles with a growing gap between rich and poor. The legislation now goes to Gov. Jerry Brown, who says he will sign it into law Monday after previously working out the plan with labor unions. Brown says the measure approved by the legislature proves again that California can get things done and help people get ahead. The state of New York was considering a similar move. Democrats who control both legislative chambers in California hailed the increase as a boom to more than 2 million of state's poorest workers. Republicans, however, echoed fears from business owners and economists that the annual increases — eventually tied to inflation — will compound California's image as hostile to business. The Assembly passed SB3 with a 48-26 vote. The Senate followed, 26-12. The increases would start with a boost from $10 to $10.50 on Jan. 1. Businesses with 25 or fewer employees would have an extra year to comply. Increases of $1 an hour would come every January until 2022. The governor could delay increases in times of budgetary or economic downturns. California's current $10 an hour minimum wage is tied with Massachusetts for the highest among states. Get more sales tax tips here: http://www.avalara.com/learn/ California is one of the biggest and baddest states when it comes to sales tax law. Businesses that have to collect there have to keep track of lots of different nuances, and it can be a big pain. What I'm going to do is I'm going to pack as much of that pain as I can into two minutes to give you an overview of what it's like to comply with California sales tax law. Here we go. What's the sales tax rate in California? Well, across the state the base is 7.5 percent, but with local sales tax it can get as high as 10 percent. Let's talk about sourcing. If you make a sale from one point in California to another, and you have to collect sales tax, the city, state, and county sales tax rates are sourced at the origin or the ship from address. That's where you get your sales tax rate. The district sales tax is sourced at the destination ship to address. That's where you get your sales tax rate for that part of it. Nexus, what if you're an out of state seller and you're selling into the state of California? When do you have to collect? Well. if you have a physical presence in California like a warehouse or distribution center then you most likely have to collect. In addition, if you work with in state affiliates you may have to collect. Drop shippers if you have Nexus there you also have to collect. Let's talk filing. California is like most states in that your filing frequency has to do with the amount of revenue you make or the projected amount of revenue. Finally, shame; what are some big sales tax gotchas in California? Well, according to a recent study by the state the number one sales tax error committed by businesses in California was use tax when a business in California buys from an out of state business that doesn't collect sales tax and the California business fails to remit use tax to California or does it incorrectly. That's a big error and a big gotcha in this state. Finally, California has a map of shame on its website where they list the biggest delinquents in the state. I hope this helps give you an overview of the Golden States sales tax laws and regulations. If you're worried about any of this or have questions I suggest you do more research because sales tax law here can be a bear. Thanks very much, I'll see you next time.

Life for me has changed since I left California for greener pastors. The greatest investment for me and my family has been moving out California. I use pay 990$ dollars a month for a one bad room apartment, plus the light bill and gas. Water and trash included in the rent. The land I live on is penny's on the dollar compare to California. This is my latest installment in the saga of leaving California. I'm also starting a step by step video guide on how to evacuate Californians. Tired of the High Cost of Living? Tired of The Nanny State of California? Sick and tired of rampid illegal immigration and sanctuary cities? Then please stay tuned and subscribe. I can help you and will help you leave California.
